Regular membership in ASO is open to any Austin-area otolaryngologist who is board certified or board eligible and in good standing as a physician. Retired physicians, PAs and NPs as well as medical students, residents and fellows are also welcome to apply as non-voting members of ASO.
The membership of this Society is divided into Regular members, Emeritus members, and Associate members:
- Regular members are board-certified or board-eligible practicing otolaryngologists or otologists in good standing as a physician in the Austin-area community.
- Emeritus members are those physicians practicing or having practiced Oto-HNS who are 65 or older in the Austin-area. Emeritus members are exempt from license and board certification requirements and are invited to participate in the activities of the Society, but are not eligible to hold office or to vote. Membership cost is free to emeritus members.
- Associate members include Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Residents and Fellows practicing in the field of Oto-HNS. These members are invited to participate in the activities of the Society, but are not eligible to hold office or to vote.

Dues are $150 annually for Regular Members and $75 annually for Associate Members. Dues are $155 for Regular Members, and $80 for Associate Members when paid online in order to cover fees from Paypal.
